Meet Our New School Resource Officer

Waterford-Halfmoon UFSD is pleased to welcome our new School Resource Officer, Deputy Michael Grigas.
Deputy Grigas has been with the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office for close to 26 years, with the last seven as an SRO in the Shenendehowa School District.
"I like working with kids and being in the school environment. I try to help them, and the staff, have a positive experience with law enforcement. The people here have been great, and the whole school has been very welcoming," he said.
His advice for students is the same he gives his own kids.
"We all have had ups and downs as we have found our way through the early part of our lives. The key is to learn from them and know what to do or not to do the next time," then added, "Act like your mom is watching you all the time. It will help you make the right decision instead of the easy decision."
"We are pleased to have Deputy Grigas here at Waterford-Halfmoon. His experience and approach are a great fit for our students and community," said Superintendent Michael Healey.
When he isn't at school, he serves on the Sheriff's Office Scuba Dive team. He also umpires high school baseball games, officiates high school and college football games, plays the guitar, and enjoys spending time with his kids and friends.
