ABOUT THE DISTRICT
The Waterford-Halfmoon Union Free School District was the first public school in Saratoga County to receive a Regents Charter in 1849. The district boundaries encompass a seven-square-mile area and include most of the residential properties located in Waterford and the southern section of the town of Halfmoon. The 721 UPK-12 students are served in one expansive building. There are 90 certified staff members, five administrators, one business manager, 19 classroom aides/teaching assistants, and 45 support staff members. The district’s small size fosters a family atmosphere where the focus is on the needs of each student.

District budgets and capital projects have been consistently supported by the community throughout the years. The Parent Teacher Organization is an active partner in the education of the students, offering many cultural experiences that extend far beyond the district funding.
