Counseling Services

The Waterford-Halfmoon Union Free School District is a partnership of schools, parents, and the community dedicated to the goal of providing an excellent education for all of our students. Our mission is to ensure that all students develop and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, abilities, and character needed to live useful, productive, and rewarding lives.
To access the most recent information and updates from our Guidance department, students should visit our Google Classroom database,
which can be accessed here.
If you are having trouble accessing our Google Classroom, please contact the Guidance Office at (518) 237-0800 ext. 3314

COURSE GUIDE
The purpose of the Course Guide is to provide a road map to a successful high school experience. As you will see, we offer many paths to success. Individuals are encouraged to choose the best path for them and to evaluate that path each year.

The Program of Studies outlines four aspects of our high school program:

-An explanation of graduation requirements as specified by the New York State Board of Regents.
-A listing of sequence options presented in both narrative and graphic formats for your convenience
-Answers to commonly asked questions regarding various aspects of the high school program
-A list and description of courses and sequences offered by each subject area department.

Cooperation among parents, students, and staff is necessary and very important when selecting a program of study that will provide for the educational needs of every student. The Waterford-Halfmoon High School staff will assist you in developing your program and will assist in the decision-making and problem-solving processes. Student conferences will be scheduled for this purpose. If you have any questions, you are urged to call the Guidance Office.
